This year, West Marin will experience historically dry conditions. With record-low rainfall and low rainfall last year, this drought is shaping up to be the worst on record. In response, Marin County has declared a drought emergency. We need to reduce our water use, now.

This event featured speakers and discussions on the many practical ways we can continue to reduce our water consumption, including:

Rainwater capture
Gray water systems (the good and bad)
Mini point-of-use water heaters
Smart plant watering
Tracking your water usage, and other great tips.

Our presentation and discussion experts:

◆Dennis Rodoni, Marin County Supervisor
◆ Ashley Eagle-Gibbs, Environmental Action Committee of West Marin
◆ Ryan Grisso, North Marin Water District
◆ Ben Eastman, Expert on water catchment & greywater systems installation
◆ Jennifer Blackman, Bolinas Public Utility District
◆ Filipe Padilla, Expert gardener
◆ Burton Eubank, Expert gardener

Supervisor Dennis Rodoni, who is intimately familiar with local water issues having previously served on the North Marin Water District board, moderated the Q&A.
